The Liffey Trust is delighted to announce awardee Oliver O’Gorman as this years recipient of The Dr. Séamus Mc Dermott Entrepreneurial Scholarship for Dublin City Univeristy. Oliver is a first-year Marketing, Innovation and Technology (MInT) who was awarded the scholarship for his exceptional work on the LIFE module.

The scholarship was created by to celebrate the importance of job creation, entrepreneurial development and education for life, and was presented by Liffey Trust Chairman Aidan Corless, General Manager Michelle mc dermott and Prof Theo Lynn, Interim Executive Dean of DCU Business School during this year’s Hack4Change hackathon. The event, which is part of the Learning Innovation for Enterprise (LIFE) module, gave first-year students a chance to tackle social challenges and share their ideas with industry speakers and mentors.

The LIFE module, led by DCU Business School’s Dr Catherine Faherty and Dr Colette Real, recognises and develops student entrepreneurial, innovation, and social impact skills. This closely reflects the values of the Liffey Trust, which was founded by Dr Séamus McDermott in 1984 to help potential entrepreneurs and community groups to establish themselves in Ireland.

A huge congratulations to Oscar on this fantastic achievement. We look forward to seeing her entrepreneurial ideas develop.
