Last year, The Liffey Trust decided to reach out to help disadvantaged schools in Dublin’s inner city. DEIS schools have been identified as those in disadvantaged areas that do not have the same opportunities as others. The Liffey Trust’s aim is to help these schools deliver STEM education.

Directors Ciara Close and Aidan Corless carried out a study visiting schools to find out their needs. The result of this was eye-opening. Most schools’ science classes have not been upgraded or maintained in many years.

We are proud to announce that the first school initiative was St. Paul’s CBS Secondary School. The Liffey Trust’s commitment to education aligns perfectly with St. Paul’s CBS’s mission to provide quality education to its students.

This funding was used to significantly upgrade the school’s science demonstration room, providing students with a state-of-the-art learning environment.

The donation from the Liffey Trust helped St. Paul’s CBS to:

Modernize Equipment: Purchase cutting-edge classroom equipment.

Improve Classroom Facilities: Renovate the science demonstration room to create a more inspiring and functional space.

Inspire Students: Foster a love of science and encourage students to pursue STEM careers.

“As a school community we would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Liffey Trust for the financial support that they provided to enable us to convert an unused storage space into a modern Science Demonstration Room. We work hard to help our students overcome the barriers that might prevent them from realising their academic potential and personal growth. The support of the Liffey Trust, and it’s belief in the work that we do, offers great encouragement to our students and staff as we continue these efforts”
